Summary:Discrete-time nonlinear control systems arise in many fields of science and applications. This chapter provides the main tools to analyze the stability properties of fixed points using a Lyapunov function approach. In addition, dedicated techniques for stabilizing controller design are presented, including constructive conditions for particular systems classes (such as Lur’e-type systems and switched systems). Finally, more advanced stability-related notions for systems with inputs, such as input-to-state stability, dissipativity and convergence, are discussed.
