Analysis on speech cognitive ability of healthy adults with different working memory span in Qin-Ba Mountain Areas

Working memory is a system or mechanism with limited capacity, and plays an important role in verbal agnitivel activities. Healthy adults with different working memory span in Qin-Ba Mountain Areas take part in the experiments. Their verbal fluency, sentence understanding and numberic working memory are researched and their verbal fluency and sentence understanding are compared, further, the relationship between speech cognition and working memory span are explored. It find that, (1) In verbal fluency, verbal fluency of the subjects with higher working memory span are better than that of the lower. (2) In sentence understanding, the main effect of working memory span is significant, sentence understanding level of the subjects with the higher working memory span are better than that of the lower; there are no interaction between working memory span and the difficult level of sentence, sentence patterns, and sentence-picture consistency.
