With the rapid development of modern information technology,research in the field of library development has faced a new situation of rapid development.As anew type of library service and management mode,smart library will become one of the focal points of library research.This paper analyzed the foreign theses on smart library published from 2004 to 2014,and used keywords analysis method,co-words analysis method and social network analysis method to analyze statistical results and construct the research map,accurately positioning the main hotspots of library science research abroad in nearly 10 years from 2004 to 2014 and the current research status,and then pointed out the future development trend and the direction of efforts.
