By citing the cases, this paper analyzed the functions and effects of current rural library construction on the sustain- able development of reading promotion in the urbanization process of Tibetan area. Focusing on the existing prob- lems, it put forward some strategies of rural library construction, like cultivating the professional knowledge of li- brarians to enhance the quality of manager, intensifying publicity to expand the influence scope, docking with the li- braries of all types at all levels to add the radiation scope, so as to promote the rural library construction in the ur- banization process of Tibetan area, as well as the in-depth development of pastoral areas＇ reading.
