Objective To exploring the effect of antipsychotic drugs on bone status,in order to provide corresponding strategy for the prevention of osteoporosis. Methods A retrospective cohort study was conducted. The medication situation and basic information of the patients in antipsychotic medication group( exposed group) and the control group were collected. Amino terminal propertied of type I precollege( PINP),bone glaprotein( BGP),and bone mineral density of the distal radius of the subjects were detected. The covariance analysis was used to analyze the effect of antipsychotic drugs on the bone status. Results Antipsychotic drugs affected the bone status of the patients to a certain extend. The covariance analysis showed that the levels of BGP and PINP in the exposed group were lower than those in the control group after adjustment for age, beef and milk consumption frequency. Conclusions Antipsychotic drugs affect the bone status of the patients
