Styrene-isoprene-butadiene terpolymer (integral rubber, SIBR) was a novel tire tread rub- ber with an excellent combination of properties, which was the development tendency for " green tire". This paper mainly summarized the technology progress of new polar modifiers used in the synthesis of SIBR on the basis of briefly discussing the techni-ca1 status of SIBR at home and abroad, and it was pointed out that linear long-chain asymmetric ether, alkyl tetrahydrofuran and binary modifier system were the development orientation of polar modifier
