In order to overcome the shortcomings of the conventional method for the counting of eggs of potato tuber moth, such as large workload, inaccurate counting results due to the high gathering of eggs, this research established a new method for the counting of eggs of potato tuber moth : soaking eggs in 70% ethanol solution for half an hour, then brushing the eggs down gen- tly by brush pen, finally counting them under a microscope. The methodological survey proves that this method is accurate, pre- cise, repeatable and simple, and it can be applied to count the eggs of potato tuber moth.
