Oidium heveae is an obligate biotrophic pathogen which infects Hevea brasiliensis and causes powdery mildew disease of rubber trees.It has been reported that O.heveae HN1106 triggers the hypersensitive response in a manner that depends on the effector-triggered immunity proteins EDS1,PAD4,and RAR1 in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana.As co-chaperones of HSP90,Arabidopsis RAR1 and SGT1 are required to stabilize some R proteins.However,it is still unknown whether SGT1 is involved in O.heveae triggered disease resistance in Arabidopsis.In this study,WT Col-0,sgt1b and eds1 mutants were inoculated with O.heveae HN1106,and the phenotypes of O.heveae cell entry ratio,plant disease symptoms,cell death,ROS production and O.heveae HN1106 hyphal growth were analyzed.These results indicated that SGT1 was required for O.heveae HN1106-triggered early stage and late stage disease resistance and defense responses.
