This paper analyzed the significance of developing ancient village tourism,and dilemmas of tradition and modernity,authenticity and commercialization,ecology and extensity and protection and development which the sustainable development of ancient village tourism encountered.It argued that protecting the ancient village＇s traditional feature was the basis of breaking through difficulties,keeping the ancient village＇s authenticity was the core of breaking through difficulties,developing low-carbon tourism was the bridge of breaking through difficulties,and speeding up the transformation and upgrading of the tourism was the key of breaking through difficulties.
