In the paper, the feasibility and necessity of developing sweet sorghum industry in the coastal saline - alkali land in Jiangsu province were analyzed. Based on the sustainable developmental theory and the perspective of modern agricultural develop- ment, some ideas of constructing sweet sorghum industrial technology system in the coastal saline -alkali land in Jiangsu province were proposed.
