Taking Nanqiao district,Chuzhou city of Anhui province as the studied area,this study quantitatively analyzed the spatial features of the rural settlements from the aspects of gradient,elevation,source of water,transportation,land use type,urban development and so on,according to the relevant data and information.The residential points in the studied area were divided into 4 different developing types： urbanization type,new rural community type,limited developing type,and merger and house removing type.Finally,this paper put forward relevant policy suggestions on each developing type.
