In this paper,the main types of earthworm biomarkers for the eco-toxicological diagnosis of soil pollution were reviewed,including the activities of several enzymes,the lysosomal neutral red retention,heat shock protein,metallothionein,ultrastructural change in tissue,DNA damage,macromolecular adduct etc.The mechanism,characteristics and test examples of several biomarkers were commented,and their application prospects in the eco-toxicological diagnosis of soil pollution were also discussed.
