The present study was conducted to investigate the results of applying two water retention agents on sugarcane and provide a theoretical basis and reference of the application with water retention agent on sugarcane production.The results showed that the germination,tillering and millable stalks,meanwhile the soil moisture content and the utilization ratio of fertilizer were increased by applied water retention agents;the cane yield,sugar yield and the economic benefit was higher of 2.84%～9.25%,0.09%～0.40% and 652～2 207 yuan/hm2 than CK which it was without water retention agent,respectively.But the effective of BJ2101L water retention agent was better than the other on sugarcane.
