As the worldwide security issues become more serious, the researchers on greenbelt system in China and abroad be- gin to more focus on the function of its disaster prevention and refuge. This paper analyzed the history of American and Japanese dis- aster -preventing greenbelt planning and construction, summarized the current status and problems of domestic disaster - preventing greenbelt construction, and sought the useful experiences in this field from foreign countries, for the sake of finding the more reason- able and effective methods for the disaster - preventinz areenbeh planning, in China.
