Stichlorogenol and Dehydrostichlorogenol, Genuine Aglycones of Stichlorosides A1, B1, C1 and A2, B2, C2, from the Sea Cucumber Stichopus Chloronotus (BRANDT)

Six new antifungal triterpene-oligoglycosides named stichlorosides A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 have been isolated from the sea cucumber Stichopus chloronotus (BRANDT). The structures of their genuine aglycones stichlorogenol (1) (for A1, B1, and C1) and dehydrostichlorogenol (2) (for A2, B2, and C2)...

Summary:Six new antifungal triterpene-oligoglycosides named stichlorosides A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 have been isolated from the sea cucumber Stichopus chloronotus (BRANDT). The structures of their genuine aglycones stichlorogenol (1) (for A1, B1, and C1) and dehydrostichlorogenol (2) (for A2, B2, and C2) have been elucidated on the bases of chemical and physicochemical evidence together with the X-ray analysis of 1. They are the first examples of lanost-7-ene type aglycones isolated from sea cucumber.
