Synthesis and Properties of Elastic Polymer-Chains Consisting of Highly Crystalline Oligo Units
Poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL) oligomers, prepared from PCL and ethyleneglycol (EG), were allowed to react with 4, 4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) to give PCL-polyaddition products. The crystallinity of the products decreased not only by decreasing the average unit number (n), but also by narrowi...

| Summary: | Poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL) oligomers, prepared from PCL and ethyleneglycol (EG), were allowed to react with 4, 4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) to give PCL-polyaddition products. The crystallinity of the products decreased not only by decreasing the average unit number (n), but also by narrowing the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of PCL oligomers. The crystallinity required for elastic polymer chains was thus able to be controled by n and Mw/Mn. |
