Summary:The traditional implementation method of the three-level space vector pulse width modulation (3L-SVPWM) needs multiple region judgment and a lot of trigonometric function operation, which has a large amount of calculation and increases the burden of the microprocessor. Therefore, a simplified implementation method of the 3L-SVPWM algorithm is suggested to reduce the complexity and avoid trigonometric function calculation. The method is simply completed by comparing and doing some addition and subtraction operations on the abc-axis coordinates of the reference vector. And the neutral-point balancing is achieved by directly changing the action time of the three-phase bridge arms. Hence, the complexity of the implementation of the 3L-SVPWM algorithm is remarkably reduced. Finally, the correctness of the simplified implementation method is verified by simulation experiments.
