Summary:Vascular lesions of the colon is rare. A patient with intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia of the transverse colon visited our clinic . The patient was a 47-year-old male with the chief symptom of bloody stools. Colonoscopy revealed hemorrhage from a 2cm excavated submucosal lesion of the left transverse colon. Since the possibility of diverticular bleeding could not be ruled out, conservative treatment was performed. However, the bleeding continued, so partial resection of the transverse colon was carried out. Histopathological examination showed dilated vessels with papillary endothelial hyperplasia extending from the submucosa through the muscular layer, which were characteristics of intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia.
