A case of LIMA side branch coronary steal syndrome: a role for embolization

Failure to close the side branches of the internal mammary artery can result in ischemia due to coronary steal through a patent mammary artery side branch after coronary artery bypass grafting. The authors present the case of a 56‐year‐old man with recurrent angina after 6 month surgical myocardial...

Summary:Failure to close the side branches of the internal mammary artery can result in ischemia due to coronary steal through a patent mammary artery side branch after coronary artery bypass grafting. The authors present the case of a 56‐year‐old man with recurrent angina after 6 month surgical myocardial revascularization underwent coronary angiography that showed patent left branch of the internal mammary artery. After demonstration of inducible ischemia, effective percutaneous treatment was performed using coil embolization, improving blood flow and clinical symptoms.
