Summary:A statistical survey of the dermatophytes isolated at the Dermatology Clinic of Asahikawa Medical College during a period of 13 years from Jan. 1977 to Dec. 1989 was presented. A total of 1, 327 patients (1, 489 cases) with dermatophytosis was studied. The incidence of the subjects to the all outpatients was 6.1%. 1, 489 cases consisted of 908 of tinea pedis, 190 of tinea corporis, 185 of tinea unguium, 114 of tinea cruris, 58 of tinea manus, 19 of tinea capitis and 15 of kerion celsi. The isolates consisted of 428 strains (58.1%) of Trichophyton rubrum, 244 (33.1%) of T. mentagrophytes, 40 (5.4%) of Microsporum canis, 13 (1.8%) of Epidermophyton floccosum, 9 (1.2%) of T. verrucosum and 3 (0.4%) of T. violaceum. The ratio of T. rubrum to T. mentagrophytes was 1.75 in all the tinea patients and 1.08 in the tinea pedis patients.
