Summary:This paper offers a comprehensive examination of alcohol policies and communication initiatives in Poland since the early 1990s, aiming to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and impact on alcohol consumption trends. Utilizing desk research and statistical data analysis, data was gathered from reputable institutions such as the National Center for Addiction Prevention (NCAP), the Central Statistical Office (CSO), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Supreme Audit Office (SAO-NIK). The study also investigates the factors contributing to the nearly twofold increase in alcohol consumption observed in Poland over the first two decades of the 21st century. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach that integrates sociology, social communication, and public health, the analysis spans the years 1993 to 2023. Key domains evaluated include legislative regulations, promotion practices, and prevention programs. By synthesizing current data, the paper elucidates the current landscape and concludes with recommendations vital for health prevention.
