Summary:Two novel tetrahedral manganese( ii ) complexes, ( N -methylpiperidinium)MnCl 4 ( 1 ) and ( N -methylpyrrolidinium)MnCl 4 ( 2 ), with clearly distinct fluorescence characteristics were synthesized through organic cation modulation. Compound 1 exhibits prominent green luminescence with a high quantum yield of 79.37% and 2 emits unusual red emission at 611 nm.
