Summary:We report a case of skin metastases from early gastric cancer, with tumor invasion within the lamina propria, that developed 5 years after curative surgery for gastric cancer without other organ metastases. A 56-year-old woman admitted for a right lateral abdominal tumor underwent total gastrectomy with splenectomy, lymph node dissection D2, and Roux-Y reconstruction for gastric cancer. Pathological findings after the first operation were as follows: signet ring cell carcinoma, m, (broad), ly0, v0, aw (-), ow (-), n0, P0, H0, M0, stage Ia. Tumors were surgically removed and pathological examination showed skin metastases from the gastric cancer a very rare occurrence for skin metastasis to progess gradually following curative surgery for early gastric cancer but without other organ metastasis.
