Summary: | The double gallbladder is a rare anomaly. A 69-year-old woman reporting epigastric pain was diagnosed with double gallbadder associated with gallstones in the accessory gallbladder (Y-shaped type, Gross' classification type A) due to endoscopic retrograde cholangiography. Because anomalous arrangement of the accessory gallbladder, a risk to the liver and bile duct, we conducted a cholecystectomy. We consider preoperative cholangiography useful and essential for double gallbladder diagnosis compared to anomalous gallbladder diverticulum and sand glass type. In conducting safe cholecystectomy, gall bladder carcinoma and gallstones in the accessory gallbladder must be kept in mind. The choice of laparoscopic cholecystectomy is possible for a compatible case of double gallbladder. |
