Summary: | A 49-year-old woman underwent a clipping procedure for a cerebral aneurysm November 1, 1984. She had been well until 2 weeks previously, when she had fulminant hepatitis accompanied by respiratory failure, heart failure, renal failure, pancreatitis and DIC, which is so-called multiple organ failure. She was immediately admitted to the intensive care unit and received mechanical ventilation, plasmapheresis (13times), charcoal direct hemoperfusion (10times) and hemodialysis (27times). Consequently she recovered step by step. In 17 days she was extubated. In 40 days she was tree of multiple organ failure and was discharged in go days. The relationship between fulminant hepatic disorder complicated by renal failure and endotoxemia is discussed. |
