Summary:The purpose of this study was to explore learning motivation of junior high school students in Tainan city. The measurements applied in this study included learning motivation scale. The participants consisted of the seventh and eighth graders in Tainan city. A total of 940 effective samples were collected. The obtained data was analyzed with statistics methods such as descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANONA. The results of this study were summerized as follows: 1. Learning motivation has mainly three components: value and goal of learning, expectancy for success, self-efficacy 2. The overall status of learning motivation of Tainan City junior high school students is good; expectancy for success level and value and goal of learning level of the current situation are good, but the current situation of self-efficacy is slightly bad. 3.
