Summary:A complex digital oscillator structure consisting of two integrators and two multipliers is proposed. The sensitivity to coefficient quantization of the proposed structure is orders of magnitude less than that of the direct-form digital oscillator. The proposed oscillator is capable of generating sinusoidal signals in a wide range of frequencies and with high frequency resolution. The proposed oscillator structure is simple and can be implemented on already available digital signal processors. Roundoff errors and sensitivity to parameter quantization are analyzed. The simulation results obtained confirm the analysis and show that the generated sinusoids are of low harmonic distortion.
