Abstract | Tillage experiments were conducted in Hungary using a moldboard plow on a soil with clay and silt contents of 40 and 28 kg, respectively, to estimate the optimum and the range of soil water contents for tillage. The data were used to develop a simple pedo-transfer function for soil bulk density and to develop a simplified method for estimating the lower tillage limit. All resulting governing numerical equations are provided for estimating the effects of soil composition on bulk density, for estimating the effects of soil composition on water content for tillage, and for estimating the lower tillage limit. |
