| Abstract | This study designs a Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) model with PID controller based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm, which is simulated to compensate for voltage sag disturbances due to short circuits on the load of the 220 Volt low voltage power system. Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control tuned with the ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm is used to get the optimal Kp, Ki, and Kd values to get reliable VSI inverter control when voltage sag occurs. The use of the ACO algorithm can optimize the PID parameter value to control the DVR in voltage correction with a final voltage value of 219.7 Volts for 10% and 20% voltage sag. For voltage sag 30% to 50% the final voltage value is 219.5 Volts. Comparison of three test methods, namely DVR without the controller, DVR with PID controller, and DVR-PID ACO when the voltage sag 50% produces a final voltage of 213.6 Volts, 217 Volts, and 219.5 Volts and the THD value is 2 respectively. .99%, 1.90%, and 0.60%. In terms of THD improvement, the PID-ACO DVR has a better improvement value than the DVR without a controller or DVR-PID improvement value. |
