영상촬영교과 개선사례 분석 및 대안 : PBL, Pass/Fail 평가 및 집중이수제를 중심으로

급변하는 시대에도 영상 콘텐츠는 그 형태와 내용을 달리하며 미디어의 중심 자리를 차지하고 있다. 그러나 대학에서의 영상교육은 콘텐츠의 변화 속도를 따라잡지 못하며 과거의 모습에 머물러 있는 듯 보인다. 그나마 코로나 사태 이후 온라인 수업 등 다양한 교수법의 개선 시도가 보편화된 현재, 영상교육의 현실을 돌아보기 위해 새로운 시도를 반복하며 자리잡고 있는 영상촬영교과목 <내러티브를 위한 촬영설계>와 <내러티브를 위한 조명설계>의 사례를 확인해 본다. 전통적인 수업방식에서는 충분한 학습효과가 나타나지 않았으나 학생주도형 교수법인 PBL을 도입하며 가능성을 보여주었다. 그러나 생소한 성적평가와 과도한 실습량으로 인한 도전으로 P/F 평가와 집중이수제를 도입하였다. P/F 평가는 창의성을 담보하였고 집중이수제는 모듈 단위로 충분한 실습시간을 제공하여 실습의 피로도를 줄일 수 있었다. 여전히 해결되지 않은 문제가 있으나 집중이수제의 유연한 학사운영으로 다양한 대안을 제시할 수 있다. 교육개선은 교수법 등 수업 내적인 혁신에 더해 성적평가방식이나 학사제도 등 수업 외적인 개혁이 함께 이루어질 때 더욱 큰 효과를 발휘할 수 있음을 확인하였다. In the fast-evolving media landscape, video content remains central, yet university education struggles to keep pace, appearing anchored in outdated practices. The expansion of online learning COVID-19 has spurred attempts to innovate, including in video production courses like "Cinematography Design for Narrative" and "Lighting Design for Narrative," which are adopting new approaches through PBL. PBL has demonstrated potential, yet it continues to encounter obstacles such as unconventional grading systems and substantial workloads. The introduction of Pass/Fail grading and Intensive Coursework enhanced creativity and reduced fatigue by guaranteeing sufficient hands-on hours through modular implementation. While unresolved issues remain, these innovations suggest that educational improvements can have a more signigicant impact when combining internal methodological changes with external administrative adjustments, offering a pathway to align video education with the industry's rapid evolution.
