孔子의 『詩經』 편집에 보이는 민족통합 - 雅·頌을 중심으로

論語와 司馬遷의 史記에 孔子가 詩經을 편집 정리했다고 언급하고 있다. 그렇다면 공자가 시경을 편집한 이유는 무엇일까? 시경의 형식체계를 보면 國風 15편과 雅·頌 15편으로 똑같이 나누어져 있다. 작품수도 국풍 160수와 아송 145수로 비슷하 게 안배하고 있다. 이는 풍의 주체인 민중과 아·송의 주체인 귀족과 왕의 화합을 고 려한 것이라 보인다. 작품의 내용을 보면 국풍에서는 대중의 관심이 높은 사랑과 이 별, 삶의 애환 등을 담고 그들을 위로하고 있다. 雅에서는 周가 商을 멸하고 周를 건 국한 사실이 天命임을 강조한다. 이를 통해 상나라 사람들을 위로하고 화합하는 역 사를 담고 있다. 공자는 당시 분열되는 춘추시대에 시경의 편집을 통해 중화민족 의 문화적 동질성을 회복하고 지역과 계층의 화합을 꾀한 것으로 보인다. In the Records of the Grand Historian by Sima Qian and the Analects, it is mentioned that Confucius edited and organized the Book of Songs. So, why did Confucius undertake this task? Observing the structural framework of the Book of Songs, we see it divided into the Airs of the States (15 chapters) and the Odes and Hymns (15 chapters), with 160 poems in the Airs of the States and 145 poems in the Odes and Hymns, equally balanced. The division of Airs into 15 regions also reflects a meticulous regional distribution. This organization appears to consider the harmony between the common people, who are the main subjects of the Airs, and the nobles and royalty, who are the primary subjects of the Odes and Hymns. The Airs of the States primarily contain themes that resonate with the general populace, such as love, separation, and the sorrows of life, offering them solace. In contrast, the Odes and Hymns convey messages intended for the people, reflecting the history of the Zhou Dynasty's founding and the reconciliation with the Shang Dynasty. It seems that Confucius sought to restore cultural unity and promote harmony among different regions and social classes in a fragmented China through his editorial work on the Book of Songs.
