Abstract The objective of this paper is to clarify the architectural characteristics of the Korean-Western eclectic houses at Ojeong-dong Missionary Village in Daejeon city, focused on the spatial and structural changes due to eclecticism. The consequences of the comparative analysis between the eclectic houses and two reference buildings, Myeongjae residence and Moore house, are as follows. The diverse aspects due to eclecticism can be summarized as two concepts; transformation and simplification. The transformation has appeared in the characteristic spatial elements such as an-madang, entrance and corridor, in the territory organization and the connection between building and yard, and in the roof and wall structures. The simplification has appeared in the layering of the building space, and in the joint of roof and wall. The methods of eclecticism and the resultant aspects from them that are clarified through this study are expected to be referred in examining the new possibilities of the hanok.
AbstractList 본 연구는 대전 오정동 선교사촌에 현존하는 한양절충 주택들의 공간적․구조적 특성을 절충방식과 그 결과적 양상을 중심으로 연구한 것이다. 전통한옥인 명재고택과 선교사 양옥인 무어하우스를 참조 건물로 비교ㆍ분석한 결과 다음과 같다. 한양절충 주택에서 서로 다른 양식의 요소들을 절충한 결과 나타난 여러 양상들은 변형과 단순화라는 두 가지 개념으로 정리할 수 있었다. 먼저 변형의 양상들을 살펴보면, 안마당과 현관ㆍ복도 등 주요한 공간요소들이 본래의 성격을 유지하지 못하고 그 성격이 변형되었다. 또한, 영역구성과 건물-마당 연결방식이 변형되었다. 그리고, 지붕구조와 벽체구조에서도 각각 변형이 나타났다. 단순화 현상 또한 공간과 구조 모두에서 나타났다. 한양절충 주택의 건물공간 켜는 참조 건물들에서보다 단순하고 일정하게 형성되었다. 공간의 연결관계도 절충의 결과 단순화되어 나타났다. 또한, 전통한옥의 지붕과 서양 주택 벽체의 이질적인 구조가 만난 결과 그 접합부에서 각각의 구조방식이 단순화되는 현상이 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 밝혀진 전통한옥과 서양 주택의 절충방식과 그에 따른 변화 양상들은 한옥의 새로운 변화 가능성을 모색하는 데 참고가 될 것으로 기대한다.
