| Abstract | A corrosion inhibitor is commonly used for reduction of iron corrosion, red water, iron leaching, and lead contamination in potable water. Optimal phosphate-based corrosion inhibitors are dependent on the specific ranges of pH, temperature, residual chlorine. In the study, pH, temperature, residual chlorine, disinfection by-product were estimated by dose of phosphate-based corrosion inhibitors in both batch and continuous reactors. Corrosion rates displayed an increase as the temperature and residual chlorine increased. while pH increased, the corrosion rates were reduced. On the other side, total trihalomethanes (TTHMs) increased with pH increase. Optimal pH was developed at pH 7.5 in terms of TTHMs formation and corrosion rates. KCI Citation Count: 0 |
