신체활동 작업치료가 치매노인의 실행기능에 미치는 영향

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of occupational therapy with physical exercise on executive function with dementia. For eight elderly persons with mild or moderate dementia, we executed physical exercise with group activity for 10 weeks from April to June, 2012, one times per week, and 50 minutes each time. Before and after the physical activities, the old adults were tested with Verbal Fluency Test(VFT), Trail Making Test A/B(TMT A/B), Clock Drawing Test(CDT). After the physical exercise, the subjects showed significant changes in the score of CDT(p<0.1). In contrast, there was no significant effect in VFT, TMT A. The results of this study show that occupational therapy with physical exercise program for demented elderly people is a useful therapeutic approach by enhancing the their quality of life through improving and maintaining their executive function. 본 연구는 신체활동 프로그램이 경 중등도 치매노인의 실행기능에 미치는 효과를 알아보고 치매노인의 신체활동 프로그램 기초자료를 제시하기 위하여 작업치료의 일환으로 실시하였다. 2012년 4월부터 2012년 6월까지 서울시 ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$주간보호시설에 내원한 지역사회 거주 치매환자 8명을 대상으로 하였으며 신체활동 프로그램은 전 후 평가를 제외한 10주 동안 주 1회 50분씩 실시하였다. 평가도구는 언어유창성검사(Verbal Fluency: VF)와 길 만들기 검사(Trail Making Test A/B; TMT A/B), 시계그리기 검사(Clock Drawing Test; CDT)가 사용되었다. 실험결과 신체활동 프로그램 실시 전에 비하여 실시 후 치매노인의 VF, TMT A 상 점수는 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 없었으나(p>0.1) CDT 점수는 실험 전 후 유의미한 변화가 있었다(p<0.1). 본 연구의 결과로 볼 때 신체활동 작업치료 프로그램이 경 중등도 치매노인의 실행기능 유지 및 향상에 긍정적인 효과의 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.
