We herein report two cases of foreign bodies in the sinus that were accompanied by fungal infection. The manifestations of paranasal foreign bodies range from asymptomatic presentations, to immediate or delayed sinusitis symptoms. Surgical removal of the foreign body is indicated even in asymptomatic cases because coexisting fungal infection may be present. Although less invasive endoscopic sinus surgery has been increasingly used in recent years, it is desirable to adopt an appropriate procedure according to the size and location of the foreign body. |

Although less invasive endoscopic sinus surgery has been increasingly used in recent years, it is desirable to adopt an appropriate procedure according to the size and location of the foreign body. 従来、鼻腔異物に比較して副鼻腔異物の報告はまれとされているものの、近年歯科治療の発展に伴い、医原性副鼻腔異物の報告例は増加している。今回われわれは、副鼻腔異物に真菌感染を合併した 2 例を経験したため報告する。副鼻腔異物の症状は、無症状で経過するものから、急性あるいは遅発性に副鼻腔炎症状を伴うものまで症例によりさまざまであるが、異物に真菌感染を合併する場合もあるため、無症状であっても摘出が望ましいと考えられる。治療方法は近年侵襲の少ない内視鏡下鼻副鼻腔手術による摘出が増えてきており、異物の部位や大きさによって適切な術式を選択することが必要と考えられた。 |
