アルカリ性洗剤による腐食性食道炎・胃炎に対しステロイドとトラニラストを併用した1例

Ten hours after ingestion, he underwent a tracheostomy because of respiratory difficulty. On day 1, an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) revealed erosions in the esophagus and ulcers in the gastric antrum. The mucosal burns were graded as stage Ⅲ. On day 7, a second EGD revealed an erosion in the esophagus and deformation of the gastric antrum. Medication with steroids and tranilast was started to prevent esophageal and gastric strictures. On day 17, a third EGD revealed an improvement in the erosions, deformation and ulcers. On day 22, the patient was discharged home.
