Abstract | 「はじめに」重症急性呼吸器症候群コロナウイルス2(Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2:SARS-CoV-2)のパンデミックにおいて, 本稿を執筆している2020年10月4日時点で世界全体の累計感染者は3480万人に, 死亡者は103万人に達している. 加齢, 慢性閉塞性肺疾患, がん, 重篤な心疾患, 糖尿病などはSARS-CoV-2によって引き起こされるコロナウイルス疾患2019(Coronavirus Disease 2019:COVID-19)の重症化リスクであるが, 認知症患者も重症化リスクと死亡率が高いことが報告されている. 上述のCOVID-19の重症化リスクの疾患が併存している認知症患者は特に重症化しやすく, より重度の認知症患者で死亡リスクが高いことが報告されている. 認知症患者がCOVID-19に罹患した場合の臨床像を認識しておくことは, 発症早期にCOVID-19を疑って適格な診断治療へと進めていく上で重要である. |
