青森県,下北半島西部に分布する新第三系年代層序の再検討と仏ヶ浦カルデラの提唱

Abstract 下北半島には中部中新統の檜川層が広範囲に分布している.本研究では同半島西部,仏ヶ浦周辺地域を中心に地質調査及びジルコンU-Pb年代測定を行い,檜川層の年代層序の再検討を行った.檜川層の模式地である檜川流域からは13.4 Maの年代が得られ,先行研究と一致した.一方,仏ヶ浦周辺域では扇状陥没構造が確認され,仏ヶ浦凝灰岩と福浦流紋岩溶岩が充填していることから,これらはカルデラ形成期の産物であると考えられる.カルデラ東方に分布する縫道石山貫入岩体のU-Pb年代は4.7 Maであり,仏ヶ浦凝灰岩と福浦流紋岩溶岩はそれぞれ4.5 Maと4.4 Maであった.また,カルデラ東南部の境界付近に分布する丸山流紋岩溶岩の年代は4.0 Maであり,後3者を仏ヶ浦カルデラ噴出物と新たに定義する.また,本調査地域の東部から南部にかけて上部中新統の牛滝凝灰岩(7.6 Ma)が新たに見い出され,下北半島西部の上部中新統については,さらなる検討が必要である.
