Summary: | Sleep plays an important role in human health and poor sleep quality is related to the rising mortality rates. Therefore, objective sleep monitoring system is a matter of great concern. Polysomnography and smartwatches are widely used to measure quantitative sleep quality. However, these invasive methods involve physical restraint that make its application to children difficult. This study estimated sleep quality in non-invasive way using wireless millimeter-wave sensors. This sensor can detect respiratory rates and body movements. Furthermore, it can also extract heart rates by capturing minute millimeter wave fluctuations associated with pulsation. In this way, waves measured by millimeter-wave sensors were separated into body movements, respiration rates, and heart rates. In this study, we built a sleep stage estimation model based on the information. |
