Abstract | ヒトT細胞白血病ウイルス1型(human T-cell leukemia virus type 1:HTLV-1)は,数万年前に類人猿からヒトに伝播され,特徴的なT細胞腫瘍と炎症性疾患を人類にもたらしてきた.本ウイルスの病原性発見の契機となった成人T細胞白血病(adult T-cell leukemia:ATL)やHTLV-1関連脊髄症(HTLV-1-associated myelopathy:HAM)は,未だに有効な治療法に乏しい難治性疾患であるが,近年の我が国における抗CCケモカイン受容体4(CC-motif chemokine receptor 4:CCR4)抗体,Taxワクチン(Tax抗原を標的とする樹状細胞ワクチン)等の開発は,HTLV-1関連疾患の治療パラダイムを変革しつつある.今後はHTLV-1感染T細胞の増殖を効果的に抑制するための新規免疫療法の開発に大きな期待が寄せられている. |
