Summary:In mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), nodes mobility is the nub factor affecting stability of network in clustering algorithm. Here node specifically acts as an Electronic Device having mobile nature. In the proposed strategy, we present a role-based algorithm for self-organizing, cluster creation and maintenance of MANETs which consist of smartphones, PDAs, sensors, etc. In this approach, each node is controlled by a role-assignment module, which decides the role of node based on scaling factor. Residual energy of the node and its local interaction decides Scaling Factor. Nodes with specific role form Virtual-Backbone which provides efficient communication in the network. Self-organizing, back-bone re-configuration, and energy saving is achieved by dynamic role assignment.
