Summary:Using wireless sensor network to monitor agricultural environments can provide decision support for precision agriculture. In this paper, combined with the sensor networks, mobile networks and remote database technology, a farmland environmental monitoring platform was designed and built, which can simultaneously monitor eight environmental parameters, such as atmospheric temperature, atmospheric humidity, soil temperature, soil moisture, temperature, illumination intensity, CO 2 concentration, PH value, etc. The overall structure of the system, the hardware and the software was designed, then real-time acquisition, transmission, remote monitoring and predictive analysis of the information on crop growth were implemented. Finally the system has been working normally in Longtan Lake greenhouse using solar energy on Wujin District, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province. The functional and performance testing showed its competent abilities on data service.
