| Summary: | In the current scope of IoT, low power wide-area-networks represent a key subject. Currently, LoRa is one of the main technologies that drive the growing use of such networks. In the planning process to design any LPWAN such as a LoRaWAN network, it is essential to make a coverage study, taking into consideration the various aspects of the scenario of implementation, using, for that, an appropriate propagation model. This paper assesses two pertinent propagation models, the ITU-R P.1812 and Egli, comparing their performances in a rural area scenario, using field measurements. Good agreement between predictions and measurements was achieved with both models. |
