| Abstract | With the continually increasing requirements for the performance and reliability of equipment in global power system, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is consistently updating the relevant standards so as to accommodate new technologies and face new challenges. IEC 61000-4-30 is an essential document on Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), with a focus on concepts of power quality and its measurement methods. Aiming to provide relevant engineers and professionals with an in-depth understanding of the latest standards, this paper compares and analyzes the significant differences between IEC 61000-4-30 Ed3 and IEC 61000-4-30:2015+AMD1:2021 CSV. While IEC 61000-4-30 Ed3 provides a comprehensive set of measurement methods for related parameters of power quality, including voltage, current, frequency, and their harmonics and flicker, IEC 61000-4-30:2015+AMD1:2021 CSV offers significant technical revisions based on Ed3, including the specifications for current measurement methods, the addition of measurement methods for rapid voltage changes (RVC), and the supplementation of measurement methods for conducted emissions in the 2 kHz to 150 kHz range. Through a comparative analysis of these two versions, we can comprehend the development of IEC standards and their significance in the application in the global power system better. |
