Cytogenetics is an important component of professional basic course of postgraduates whose major is plant breeding and genetics in agricultural and forestry universities. In order to adapt the development of life sciences, carry out innovative education and cultivate the innovative and excellent talents, we analyze the current situation and the major problem of graduate' s experimental teaching on cytogenetics under the new situation. We try to conduct the educational reform in three aspects: integrating the resources of teaching and optimizing the experimental content; teaching approaches; evaluation methods. These measures can improve the quality of teaching and cultivate the graduates' innovative ability.
