Mosquitoes suck human blood, spread disease and endanger human health, but the resistance problem of insecticide limits the use of insecticide, the advantages of high efficiency, low toxicity, safety and environmental protection and less resistance problems make mosquito repellent get much people attention. The current research status of mosquito repellents at home and abroad, including the harm of mosquitoes, research development progress of natural mosquito repellents and synthetic mosquito repellents, was summarized systematically. While the research of the mosquito repellent formulations were introduced. At the same time, the future challenges of mosquito repellents were pointed out.
