The purpose of this study was to use SSR molecular markers and pedigree information to clarify the genetic relationship between maize inbred lines of Suwan and original breeding population. The results showed that 154 and 196 alleles were detected within 39 pairs of selected primers in the 27 inbred lines, respectively. The number of alleles per locus averaged 3.95 within the range of 3 and 8 in the 27 in- bred lines detected. Cluster analysis indicated that 27 inbred lines could be split into 3 groups. This research will benefit Suwan inbred lines by providing definite fl"equency change of alleles.
