To overcome the effect of shadow, adjusting the structure of photovoltaic array, that's to say, optimizing the configuration of photovoltaic array, can improve the maximum power greatly according to the change of its working conditions in real time. In this paper, partial shading effect on the maximum power of photovoltaic array is analyzed by simulations, and control strategies for photovoltaic array reconfiguration are researched in detail. The initial structure of the array, control algorithms, the required type and number of switching devices and sensors, etc. are analyzed and compared.
