In all plasma and RBC glycerolphospholipids, the monounsaturated fatty acids were highest in the Italian and the saturated fatty acids were highest in the Finnish samples; PUFAs were highest in the USA samples. Platelet glycerolphospholipids followed similar fatty acid patterns.
