La raison en est que l'on a ete pieges dans un mode de penser fonde sur les mesures a basse vitesse, c'est-a-dire la mesure de la vitesse dans une direction s'est appuye sur un signal de synchronisation a une vitesse superieure pour synchroniser une horloge lointaine. Les auteurs departent de ce modele avec une nouvelle theorie et methode d'experimentation, dans laquelle la lumiere se propageant dans une direction n'est pas seulement consideree comme une quantite a mesurer, mais aussi comme une norme de temps et un signal de synchronisation de l'horloge, ce qui peut eviter l'erreur infinie et la logique circulaire de synchronisation d'horloge lointaine de la methode ancienne, presentant ainsi la possibilite de mesurer la vitesse de la lumiere dans une direction et de verifier l'isotropie de la vitesse de la lumiere.
